Princeton Children's Fund, Inc. is dedicated to providing access to enrichment and extracurricular opportunities for Princeton Public School students whose families would otherwise be unable to afford them. Our goal is to promote an equivalent experience for all children in the Princeton Public School community.
In the Princeton Public Schools, 12% or almost 500 students are eligible for free and reduced lunches according to the Federal guidelines. The intertwining problems of poverty and lack of opportunity in our town are clear and persistent. For so many of the children in our community, there is no room in the family budget for the extras and activities enjoyed by our children: club sports and equipment, tutoring, test preparation, dance or music lessons, school photos and yearbooks, prom dresses, and so much more. The effect of this disparity plays out in our classrooms, on the playgrounds and athletic fields, and ultimately in the hearts and minds of these children. We know that the education children receive in the Princeton Public Schools is outstanding but it is not the only factor that opens doors to college and career achievement.
