Requests from Students and Families

Below are the forms to use when directly applying for a grant. While we will accept grant requests directly from students/families, the quickest way to navigate our grant review process is to work with a teacher, guidance counselor, or administrator at your school. To qualify for our support, you must either have applied for Free or Reduced Lunch at school or have a need verified by a school counselor or staff member. Below is a description of the two forms available for direct grant application requests and an explanation of when to use each:

FAMILY Request Form

The FAMILY Request Form is for parents or guardians whose students attend any of the Princeton Public Schools. The form provides space for up to 6 children. If you have more than six children, please include their information in the comments box at the end of the Request Form.

STUDENT Request Form

The STUDENT Request Form is only for Princeton High School junior and senior students. If you are a student at any other Princeton Public School, your parent must complete the Family Request Form.

Please note we are unable to reimburse students or families directly;
see below for specific details.

The Process

Some elementary schools in the district offer scholarships for specific extracurricular activities. We collect school information to align grants between PCF and these schools. Your grant request will be reviewed within four business days. If we have questions during this review, we'll contact you directly. Upon approval, we will process a payment to the organization on your behalf.

Please note, that if the cost is such that it exceeds the fiscal year budget set aside for each student and a balance will be outstanding, we require that you pay your portion first and have the provider send us a final invoice that reflects the remaining balance. We will not pay our portion first as our payment must match the invoice amount for our records. Providers can email final invoices to us at: president@princetonchildrensfund.org.

We do not reimburse students or families directly - even if the expense would have been covered had a grant request application been submitted and approved. Please do not pay the expense first and then request reimbursement through a grant request application.

*We do not guarantee that all grants will be approved and may pay a different rate than the posted retail rate. We do our best to process requests in a timely fashion and manage time-sensitive deadlines.

If you have any questions about how we work or the status of a request, please email us at president@princetonchildrensfund.org.
